Jiankai Sun is a machine learning engineer at Pinterest. Previously, he worked as a research scientist at Bytedance Inc. Seattle, focusing on large language models and privacy-preserving techniques such as federated learning. He got his Ph.D. from the Department of Computer Science at the Ohio State University, advised by Prof. Srinivasan Parthasarathy.
His research mainly focuses on large language models, privacy-preserving techniques such as federated learning and some other machine learning related areas such as graph embedding, recommender systems, and question routing in online CQAs.
